WW2 3rd Regiment RHA Royal Horse Artillery Theatre Made Cap Badge incorporated into a Brass souvenir display shield plaque

An attractive display of an RHA cast GVI brass cap badge with two collar badges and the large full gun cap badge to the reverse. on the reverse one can see the remains of the clipped slider and the lugs which have been hammered into place rivet style.

A finely cast side cap badge with two original lugs to reverse. GVI cypher. Circa 3.4cm tall. Officially this badge was not sanctioned with a GVI cypher until 1948. But an earlier pattern, theatre made for wear on the foreign service helmet was apparently worn by the 3rd Regiment RHA in the Middle East in WW2
