WW2 Canada - 14th Canadian Tank Regiment (Calgary Regiment) Bi-Metal Cap Badge - Scully
Die struck with bronze brass overlays. two original loops and maker marked W Scully Montreal (partly obscured by one of the lugs). Circa 49 mm tall, in very good condition. This is the WW2 pattern. The badge pattern changed from this design in 1946 - 1949.
This Canadian Armoured Regiment, was part of Operation Jubilee ( raid on Dieppe in 1942). The 14th Army Tank Regiment (The Calgary Regiment (Tank)) went into history as the first tank regiment of the Canadian Army to go into battle with the enemy as well as the first engaged in amphibious assault during the Second World War.
