Australia New South Wales Irish Rifle / Rifles Regiment Cap Badge

A die struck white metal hat badge of the NSW Irish Rifle Regiment, worn circa 1903 - 1912. The badge features the Irish harp above a shamrock, encircled by a Waratah wreath, and surmounted by the imperial crown. The Irish motto 'FAG AN BEALAC' ('Clear the way') is carried beneath the shamrock, and the title 'N.S.W. IRISH RIFLE REGIMENT' is inscribed on a scroll at the bottom of the badge. With two original east - west loops to the reverse. In unissued condition. A rare badge.
