Boer War Trench Art Brass Shell Converted to Napkin Ring Commemorating the Siege of Ladysmith 1899 - 1900, Initials of owner
A heavy piece of rifled artillery shell brass, neatly lead soldered into the shape of a napkin ring, with an attempt at scalloped decoration in two rows to the outside and engraved "Siege of Ladysmith 1899 - 1900" with the rather grand initials (presumably of the owner) " E. St. V.T." below. Worthy of further research, as most probably the property of an officer who served or senior civilian dignitary. Just under 4 cms in diameter and 2.5cms tall.
Any additional information welcome.
