WW2 9th Gurkha Rifles Silver Cap Badge, Kings Crown (1937- 1947)
A very attractive little die cast unmarked silver badge at circa 26mm tall and 29mm wide in unmarked silver with two stout long silver lugs to the reverse, most probably for wear on the officers' Kilmarnock Cap. Slightly shaped to cap and the lugs are too long to make this a collar badge. The crown was introduced in 1937. This was one of the Gurkha regiments transferred to the Indian Army after independence as part of the tripartite agreement in 1947, so only worn 1937 - 1947. Scarce.
