WW2 North African Campaign - Buffs / Palestinian Bronze Shoulder Title

A scarce bronze shoulder title with one of two lugs remaining to the reverse, otherwise in good condition. These were worn by all ranks with bronze finish.

Three Palestine Infantry Companies of Arab and Jewish personnel were formed in 1940, totaling about 500 men & attached to 1st Battalion The East Kent Regiment (The Buffs". Intended mainly for guard duties, some personnel served in the Syria Campaign of June - July 1941. In 1942 the 1600 Jewish & 1200 Arab personnel of the by now 15 companies were formed into the three battalions of a new Palestine Regiment.
