Ireland - Cork Militia Artillery Brass Shoulder Title
A rare brass shoulder title for The Cork Royal Garrison Artillery Militia, with two original hexagonal lug fastenings to the reverse.
Please note these titles were worn with a separate RGA title above.
Westlake 653 or Litchfield 84.
Westlake states only two units of militia artillery from the Army List of May 1905 survived the reorganisation of 1908. These were the Antrim and Cork batteries, which became known as Royal Garrison Reserve Artillery.
Norman Litchfield's book on 'The Militia Artillery 1852-1909' (p57/58) dates this title to c1907 and states this unit was not disbanded until after WW1.
