Royal Artillery Volunteers Victorian Officers helmet plate
A fine silver plated example worn circa 1878-1902. Royal Arms, pierced around the shield, with scroll below bearing a laurel spray. Below the scroll, a gun with fixed wheel resting on a scroll inscribed 'Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt'. Three original silvered loops to reverse. A small field of original red felt sewn to ground of the gun, now partially detached. Not sure what this signified but easily removed if not required. In very good condition with all fiddly bits present and correct!
