1st Volunteer Battalion The East Kent Rifles (Yeomanry) Officers Helmet Plate

A Victorian QVC blackened brass helmet plate for the 1st Volunteer Battalion (East Kent Rifles). Dating circa 1883 -1898 with a blackened white metal horse above invicta to the centre. In good condition complete with three original lugs to the reverse and red felt backing (looks to be a recent addition). Circa 93mm tall and 65mm wide. In 1898 the unit adopted a rifle pattern busby for full dress as their form of headdress.

The final photo shows another example as worn on the 1878 pattern officers helmet which is included here for information purposes only.
