WW2 Home Front MTTC Mechanised Transport Training Corps Bronze Cap Badge

A scarce original early Second World War 1939 to 1940 period Mechanised Transport Training Corps hat badge in the form of a motor car wheel and tyre, the voided centre bearing crossed spanners each with a raised letter 'MTTC' with motto scroll below 'Pro Patria' all in die cast light coloured bronze with original pin fittings. Circa 2.9cm in diameter. In excellent condition.

The Mechanised Transport Training Corps (MTTC) was formed in February 1939 as a womens voluntary civilian organisation. It was recognised by the Ministry of War Transport in 1940 and renamed the Mechanised Transport Corps (MTC). Its members were conscripted and received pay.
