A scarce First World War period 'Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth & Co Ltd, Munitions of War Imperial Service badge', brass circular example inlaid with blue enamel, the reverse impressed with official issue number "34091" and retaining original buttonhole fitting. Enamel intact and in good overall condition. Circa 26mm in diameter.

During WW1 Sir W.G. Armstrong Whitworth & Co were based in the North East of England and were large manufacturers of Aeroplanes, Airships, Warships, Submarines, Motor Vehicles, Tractors, Guns, Ammunition and all war materials. Scarce.
