WW2 Sand Cast Theatre Made Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment White Metal Cap Badge - G. Karrenjee & Sons, Aligarh U.P.

A nicely cast white cap badge with original slider and maker marked G Karrenjee & Sons Aligarh, U.P. In very good condition.

The 1st Battalion Beds and Herts were Chindits, and no doubt served where cast locally made badges were being made. They moved to British India in 1942, and subsequently served as Chindits in the Burma Campaign of 1944 where they, like many other Chindit units, suffered heavy casualties, mainly from disease.
