An early Mercantile Marine Merchant Navy Officers Gold Bullion Cap Badge with Silver Plated Crown and Anchor Cap Badge - Makers label 'Lawton & Fenner' Ltd

A pre WW2 Merchant Navy Officer's Padded Gold Bullion Cap Badge with dark toned silver plated metal crown and anchor. Some tarnishing to gold bullion and some fading to maroon velvet central boss. Original maker's label to reverse 'Lawton & Fenner Ltd" and registered number 675204 which, if a registered design number, would date this pattern to 1920 - 1921. Circa 6.8cm tall including black felt backing cloth.

Lawton & Fenner Ltd was based in Preston and Incorporated 24th December 1925. It appears to have been struck off the companies register in 1983 (London Gazette, edition 49312, page 4793 of 8th April 1983 refers).
