SWB officially impressed 417822 awarded to Lance Corporal Andrew Crawford, 4th Gordon Highlanders. An unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. In very good condition, dark toned, complete with original pin fittings (north - south). Circa 32mm in diameter. Copy of CD version of SWB roll entry Copy of WW1 Medal Index Card (MIC) to be supplied.

2472 ( later 200494) Andrew Crawford was a Territorial soldier of the 4th Battalion the Gordon Highlanders and served in France & Flanders from 19th February 1915, was entitled to the 1914-15 trio, enlisted 24th September 1914, discharged 1st July 1918 on account of disablement or ill health. Aged 23.

Reference to Army Order II of 1917 Para 2.B (I) is found on the SWB roll in respect to a soldier who had served overseas and been discharged on account of disablement or ill-health caused otherwise than by misconduct.

Approximately 1,150,000 badges were issued to all services, which had to be claimed and then approved.
