WW1 Silver War Badge (SWB) to Thomas E Beck 11th Hussars / 12th Cavalry Reserve Regiment
A first pattern SWB officially impressed 213994 awarded to Private Thomas E. Beck of the 12th Reserve Cavalry Regiment. An unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings (east -west). Circa 32mm in diameter. Copy of CD version of SWB roll entry Copy of WW1 Medal Index Card (MIC) to be supplied.
A pre-war regular soldier, 10265 Private Thomas E. Beck enlisted 10th April 1913 with the 11th Hussars and entered France with the BEF on the 15th August 1914. His MIC confirms his entitlement to the 1914 Star Trio. Discharged from one of the reserve cavalry regiments, the 12th Regiment was associated with feeding recruits to the 11th Hussars in particular.
