Boer War City Imperial Volunteers (CIV) Boer War Envelope Cover - Perkins 1st Volunteer Battalion The Middlesex Regiment

Envelope (no contents) posted from South Africa in September 1900 to an address in London, one penny Queen Victoria stamp with frank cancellation of British Army Post Office (35?) South Africa, dated 27 Sept 00, and back stamped 19 Oct 00. Envelope in top left corner is annotated as being from W.H. Perkins, No 353, C.I.V., "on active service". Some minor tears and folded, otherwise in good condition.

Sold with a copy page from the CIV roll which confirms that Private W.H. Perkins was from the detachment fielded by the 1st Volunteer Battalion, the Middlesex Regiment ( HQ Hornsey).
