Gilding Metal Brass Other Ranks Royal Artillery RA Cap / Collar Grenade

Circa 34mm tall, with two original loops to the reverse and cotter pin. Worn on cap and collar. Seven flames. In very good condition (the final picture shows this against the officer's OSD version listed for sale elsewhere).

On the SD cap Other Ranks had worn the service dress cap badge (i.e. the large Gun) until ACI 1179 of 1941 authorised the wearing of a gilt grenade (as also worn on the collar when not in battledress).
