WW1 6th Battalion The Leinster Regiment Purple L Sewn on Light Weight Tropical Surge Panel
A purple felt L sewn to a panel of light weight overseas light khaki. Annotated on back 6th Bn Leinster Regt WW1. Some moth holes to the L, but still a rare find.
Formed in August 1914, the 6th Battalion joined 29th Brigade, 10th (Irish) Division and sailed to Gallipoli July 1915 and landed at Anzac Cove in August 1915. They moved with the division to Salonika in September 1915 and, after two years on that front, moved to Palestine in September 1917
