Highgate School London OTC Annual Camp 1911 large original photograph - Middlesex Regiment Cap Badge
I have included a normal sized postcard to show the size of this gloss black and white photograph ( circa 19.5cm by 13cm). This is a group of seven public school boys. The date 1911 has been written on the reverse (School OTC units were first formed in 1908). Slight tear in image, but it has not left a hole, and one heavy corner crease.
Many schools just wore the cap badge of their affiliated territorial regiments. Highgate school in North London does not have its own pattern cap badge listed in K&K Vol 2. The shoulder titles are unfortunately just too hard to read, but they are oval in shape as you would expect from an OTC shoulder title (Highgate School OTC shoulder title is depicted in Westlake no 1724). The only reason I have concluded Highgate is because "4 Highgate" has been written on the reverse. A smart looking group. Their Cadet Corps was founded in 1892, and attached to 3rd Volunteer Battalion, The Middlesex Regiment (thank you to Robert, an Old Cholmeleian, for the confirmation)
