Pre Boer War, 1897 Dated 1st Lincolnshire Regiment Other Ranks Scarlet Tunic - Attributed

Some moth, minor holes and the odd stain / black paint mark. Despite all these small faults, it is a complete and untouched example with all of its QVC buttons, White worsted Lincoln epaulettes, original white metal collar badges and stencilled in white paint to inner liner "1st Lin" army number "4576" and "7 97" which matches the original dated label which is dated "Sep 1897" and the WD arrow plus measurements. On the leather strap inside the collar, there is an ink annotation " D / 4576" and I think the name "Hill". Billion marksman's badge and single good conduct stripe to bottom left sleeve. White facings. A rare survivor.

Army number 4576 would put the date of enlistment as between 20th January 1896 and 1st May 1897.
