The Suffolk Regiment (12th Foot) Early Edwardian Issue Other Ranks Bi-metal Cap Badge - Transition Pattern Castle

Bi Metal die stuck cap badge on original slider with three braising / sweat / expansion holes to reverse of scroll. Some verdigris to scroll on the obverse and to the top of slider where it joins the crown on the reverse. This is the Regimental pattern castle with the addition of a small turret to the centre, which predates the 1902 pattern standard pattern castle. Rare as King's crown and therefore only worn for period 1901-1902.
