3rd West York (Light Infantry) Militia Large Pattern Button Officers Large Pattern Silver Plated Button - Scarce Maker

Circa 23mm in diameter, fixed shank, silver plate now very dark toned. Backmarked CR&Co Extra Rich (Charles Rowley & Co., 146-148 High Street, Bordesley Birmingham). A scarce maker, who also supplied buttons through the blockade to some units American units active in the American Civil War.
