WW2 7th Armoured Brigade Woven 1st Pattern Formation Sign - The Jungle Rat!

A light green 'right facing' jerboa (jungle rat) within a red circle set on a circular white background. A bit grubby, a little stained and with some edge nibbles. not come across this pattern with a black backing before. Scarce.

The Brigade served in the M.E.F. as part of the 7th Armoured Division, but was withdrawn from the Desert and sent to Burma in 1942. It was here that this badge was adopted, the same badge they had worn as part of the 7th Armoured Division but changed to green and nicknamed the Jungle Rat. After the withdrawal to the Arakan, the Brigade joined Paiforce. May 1944 saw the formation in Italy where it fought at Pescara in the operations which broke the Gothic Line and finally in the Po Valley campaign.
