WW1 war raised 2nd Battalion King Edwards Horse Yeomanry Gilding Metal Cap Badge
Die struck cap badge with original hairpin slider fixing. In very good condition with sharp detail.
The second battalion of this unit King Edwards Horse (The King's Overseas Dominions Regiment appeared in 1914 (this date appears on the badge). There was no connection with the original unit and certainly no love lost. The 1st KEH never called themselves the 1st simply preferring to believe that the 2nd never existed. The 2nd were disbanded in 1924, so all in all a scarce war raised unit badge. Strong original slider. Circa 5.7cm tall. Great unpolished condition (one very slight and small verdigris spot to front below above shield).
K&K (Vol 1) No 1134 refers.
