Stunning combination with printed Formation Sign and printed 4th Welch Regiment battalion sign below, separated by three horizontal red felt strips on its own panel in between. Some fading to the red of the printed signs otherwise in very good condition. Edges sewn over neaty for display. Rare.
The 4th Welch Regiment was a territorial unit based at Llanelli. It landed in Normandy in late June 1944 with the 160th infantry Brigade, as part of the 53rd Welsh Division. It saw service across western Europe, including taking part in Operation Market Garden and entered Germany in May 1945
