South Africa - WW2 South African Tank Corps ( SATC / SATK ) Black Metal Cap Badge, worn 1940 - 1941 only

A thin blacked gilding metal die struck non voided cap badge with two original integral flat loops to the reverse. An old WW I style tank facing left to the centre of a wreath with title scrolls below in English and Afrikaans.Circa 4.7cm in diameter. Only worn from May 1940 to September 1941, when it was replaced with an updated white metal design. A similar badge was worn on the collar but with tanks facing.
