No 75 ( New Zealand ) Squadron Royal Air Force ( RAF ) Original Image from Flight Magazine 1944
No. 75 ( NZ ) Squadron of the RAF was the first Commonwealth squadron to be formed in Bomber Command.
For sale here is an interesting image of the squadron dressing one of its Stirling Bombers. It is a one of two pages (four sides), folded, but otherwise in good condition and extracted from Flight Magazine dated 20th January 1944. The other pages are concerned with engine developments and news from axis airforces "Behind the Lines". I am not sitting pulling these magazines apart, these extracts were found in a book I have also listed on aircraft maintenance.
In all, No. 75 Squadron and its predecessor, the New Zealand Wellington bomber flight, were awarded many decorations including one VC, 6 DSOs, 88 DFCs, 4 bars to DFCs, 2 CGMs and 17 DFMs.
