RMP Royal Marine Police large white metal shoulder title

White metal with two original flat hexagonal lugs to the reverse. Circa 4.2cm wide and 1.9cm tall. Minor surface scratches from wear. Scarce.

Formed in 1923 by civilians employed as police officers to guard Royal Marine Barracks and other establishments; they became part of the Admiralty Constabulary in 1949. This title was also worn by members of the Royal Marine Police Special Reserve from 1939 - 1949.
