3rd ( Administrative ) Suffolk Battalion, Rifle Volunteers Victorian white metal button VR within title strap. Circa 23mm in diameter, back-marked Firmin & Sons. London. Fixed shank. In good condition with sharp detail. Scarce.

The 3rd Admin Battalion was formed in November 1860 and headquartered at Halewsworth, and incorporated the 4th ( Bungay ), 7th ( Halesworth ), 9th ( Aldborough ), 14th ( Beccles ), 15th ( Wrentham ) and 17th ( Lowestoft ) Suffolk Rifle Volunteer Corps. HQ moved to Lowestoft in 1865 and the Battalion was broken up in 1877.
