Burma - Southern Shan States ( SSS ) Military Police Cap Badge, 1904 - 1942

Cast white metal. possibly silver plated (given how dark toned it has become) with two original lugs to the reverse. The letters SSS interspaced between crossed Gurkha kukri knifes beneath a King's Crown. As is found with every genuine example of this badge, the final "S" is truncated. Circa 3.2cm wide and 3.5cm tall.

Renfrew et al, Vol 1 no 1037 refers (all genuine examples of this badge have a truncated final "S", including the one in Renfrew).
