Senior Drum Major Household Division Embroidered Badge

A large and attractive bullion embroidered on black felt badge, circa 17.5cm tall and 13cm wide with the regimental devices of the Queen's Household Division below a Queen's Crown. It is not exactly clear to me where this would have been worn unless on the non-state dress on the arm. During this year's Trooping of the Colour on the 14th June 2014, Staff Drum Major Steven Staite of the Grenadier Guards wore a similar device, but larger and on the baldrick, not on the arm. See photos attached. In very good condition and unissued condition. Only the senior or Staff Drum Major, who is based in Horse Guards, of the other four on the parade can wear this device, and therefore this is a unique item of wear, even if of current issue.

This would make a great centre piece for your guards / household division display.
