REME Captain Battledress Blouse attached 43rd RTR (Northumberland Fusiliers) Size 10 - 1949 Pattern

1949 Pattern Battledress blouse to a Captain in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (REME) attached to the 43rd Royal Tank Regiment (TA) (6th (City) Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers (RNF), which was part of RTR from 1938-1956.

Officer's rank insignia pips are set on blue cloth, and bottom pip on each shoulder is sewn over the formation flash for the 43rd RTR (Gosling green and maroon - the colours of the RNF). The formation signs are for the 9th Armoured Brigade (white thread embroidered on green felt tombstones), and embroidered cloth shoulder titles are REME (yellow on blue).

The blouse is in good condition, the interior label shows it was made by F.W.Harmer & Co Ltd in 1950; it is size 10, and intended to fit somebody who was quite a slim build (height 5'9"-5'10", Breast 36" to 37", and waist 31" to 32").

All buttons are present, there are no repairs and it is in untouched condition. The only faults I can see are that the buckle strap at the waist could do with a few reinforcing stitches and there is one patch of moth nipping that has thinned the material on the reverse of the right shoulder, not visible from the outside, but clearly seen from the inside if held up to the light.
