K&K list this badge in their 1898 - 1921 chapter. However, Gaylor claims it was issued in 1940s in error with an imperial crown in place of the coronet and was described by an officer of the Regiment as an example of regimental incompetence. A die struck gilding metal cap badge, dark toned to front, with two original dark toned loops to the reverse. Victorian crown. In very good condition, slight touch of Verdigris to crest but otherwise with sharp detail. Circa 7.6cm tall. Worn with a King's Imperial crown from 1902 onwards.

The smaller bi-metal die struck pattern of this badge with original slider. In good condition with sharp detail. This version is circa 37-38mm in diameter. The final photo shows it along side the more commonly encountered larger badge for sale on this site elsewhere as item 60063. Scarce.
