K&K list this badge in their 1898 - 1921 chapter. However, Gaylor claims it was issued in 1940s in error with an imperial crown in place of the coronet and was described by an officer of the Regiment as an example of regimental incompetence. I have included here for completeness but technically this should be in a later time period.

A die struck gilding metal cap badge, dark toned to front, with two original dark toned loops to the reverse. Victorian crown. In very good condition, slight touch of Verdigris to crest but otherwise with sharp detail. Circa 7.6cm tall. Worn with a King's Imperial crown from 1902 onwards.
