A universal pattern helmet plate with the title on the circle " 2nd NORTHUMBERLAND RIFLE VOLUNTEERS " with three original lugs to the reverse. Die stamped in white metal Circa 131mm tall and 106mm wide. Sharp detail and no damage to bugle and strings, but there are some very small stress fractures on the right of the central circle. Scarce Royal Fusiliers Bronze Officers OSD Collar Badge - without motto
Two part contruction with two original lugs to the reverse. Circa 4cm tall and 2.3cm wide. Minor wear to highpoints otherwise in very good condition. Worn with rose only and no motto, upright on the khaki drill. Not often encountered.

Die struck white metal cap badge with original slider, stamped J.R. Gaunt London. In unissued condition. Post 1947, when the Herefordshire regiment became a light infantry regiment, and part of the Corps of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry ( KSLI ).

Durham ( Light Infantry ) ( DLI ) Militia White Metal Other Rank's Victorian Glengarry Badge
A very scarce badge as worn by the militia, often mistakenly attributed to the volunteers, with three orginal dark toned lugs to the reverse. The badge is in good condition with sharp detail. The only fault is minor damage to the two of the little studs on the top of the orb of the crown (see photo). Circa 7cm tall and 4.8cm wide. Worn circa 1887 - 1896.

1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers Other Rank's Helmet Plate, worn c.1883-1893
Die stamped in bronzed gilding metal, correctly and contemporaneously painted black as was often the case with other ranks of this volunteer battalion. With three original and long dark toned lugs to the reverse with no damage or repairs. Circa 10cm tall and 6.8cm tall.

1st ( Tynemouth ) Corps Northumberland Rifle Volunteers Shoulder Belt Plate
Worn by officers and sergeants only from 1859 to 1862 when the corps was disbanded. Three original screw posts to the reverse. Originally silver plated but this has been worn away and detail to the three crowns in the centre has been polished. As a result it looks more brassy than perhaps it should, but scarce and in good condition otherwise. Circa 88mm tall and 64mm wide.

1878 Pattern Spiked Helmet Carry Case - 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers to G. Watson Smart
Japanned style copper carry / storage case with original applied brass plaque to an officer in the 1st VB NF, dating it to pre 1908. Usual dings and bashes and paint loss, but inside is bright. Locking clasp present but hasp is now missing, but could be repaired.
