5th RV became the 5th (Hay Tor) VB and in 1908 the 5th Battalion TA.

An Edwardian King's Crown blackened brass glengarry badge for the Border Rifle Volunteers. Some rippling and bending from service wear but in generally good condition complete with two of two original loops to reverse (some bending to these). Circa 53mm tall and 36mm wide. This unit was affiliated to the King's Own Scottish Borderers, becoming their 4th Battalion in 1908.

A rare cast collar badge of two part construction with two orginal dark toned loops to the reverse. The rose in red and green enamel on a gilt rose surrounded by an open at top laurel wreath in silver plate. This is the more compact pattern and design as worn by officers of the Hampshire Militia's 3rd Battalion from 1881, and Churchill notes this was only for a short time.
