A die struck silver plated example with two original copper loops to the reverse (one longer than the other but look like the originals). As worn in this finish by the 2nd Volunteer Battalion from 1887 until 1894 only. In superb condition (green fluff in photo has been removed). Scarce.

A gorgeous rectangular gilt plate mounted with crowned circlet inscribed ' Lancashire Rifle Volunteers ' with seeded 8 mounted to domed centre. Both fixed and detachable loops still present. Gilt bright, but some light scratching to face of gilt plate otherwise in very good condition and scarce.

A die struck nickel plated fronted metal cap badge with two original long copper lugs (bent inwards) to the reverse. Some minor staining and touches of verdigris otherwise in good overall condition. This pattern worn from 1908 - 1939. This is the scarcer "Lacesset" spelling version.

A large die struck Scottish glengarry cap badge with two original loops the reverse. Circa 5.7cms tall. An attractive badge in good condition, slight polishing to highpoints and topmost tips of wings slightly curled in. This has the quality and look of an earlier badge but it was also worn post 1908 by the Trinity College Glenalmond Officer Training Corps OTC.

Flat topped Victorian crown, die struck in gilding metal with the numerals in a plated white metal. Circa 3.6cms tall. In very good condition. See MHS Bulletin, May 1956 p89, for details. Sometimes encountered blackened with the numerals in white metal. Pin fitting in place of loops, possibly for wear on the Field Service Side Cap or for wear as a sweetheart.
