6th/8th (TAVR) Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI) Officer's Service Dress Beret, 1967-68 only

This green cloth beret has the cap badge of 8th Battalion DLI mounted on the felt cloth diamond of the 6th Battalion. In 1967, following a national Defence Review, the last two DLI Territorial Battalions were combined to form the 6th/8th Battalion DLI, which became part of the Light Infantry's Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve. 1878 Pattern Spiked Helmet Tin Carry Case - 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers to G. Watson Smart

Japanned style copper carry / storage case with original applied brass plaque to an officer in the 1st VB NF, dating it to pre 1908. Usual dings and bashes and paint loss, but inside is bright. Locking clasp present but hasp is now missing, but could be repaired.
