Rare Australian Commonwealth Horse Boer War Period Collar Badge
This is the smaller collar badge version of what is believed to be a very early "Rising Sun" hat badge adopted the Australian Army, this pattern 1902. It was issued to mounted troops in the Boer War. It bares the word AUSTRALIA arched above a King's Crown. It is made from oxidised copper. Genuine badges such as this one, are die struck, not cast. Two original loops to the reverse. V.
