WW1 New Zealand NZ Maori Pioneer Battalion Brass Cap / Collar Badge

Die cast in brass with two original loops, these have been squashed together at some point (no doubt for a display board) and have been reshaped. Otherwise in good condition and scarce.

Corbett shows the same size cap badge and design being worn as collar badges. So interchangeable. This is the third pattern worn by this Maori only Battalion, which was disbanded in April 1919. Corbett page 237 refers.
